Embarking on a New Journey: The Secret Tree 🌳✨

The Secret Tree 🌳✨ by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

I’m excited to announce that I’m diving into a new project: The Secret Tree! This young adult Christian fiction story is a passion project that has been brewing in my heart for some time now, and I can’t wait to bring it to life. (It’s been hanging out in my Google Drive since 2020)

The Secret Tree is a story that explores themes of faith, resilience, and the search for truth. It follows a teenage protagonist as she navigates the challenges of life, all while uncovering the secrets held within a mysterious tree. This tree serves as a symbol of growth and transformation, reflecting the inner struggles and triumphs of the characters.

Sneak Peek: Brainstorming Ideas 💡
In my initial brainstorming sessions, I’ve envisioned a protagonist named Evelyn (Evie for short) who faces a personal crisis of faith after experiencing trauma. As she interacts with the secret tree, she finds guidance and strength, learning to reconcile her past while embracing her identity in Christ. The tree itself will hold secrets that reveal her true potential and the importance of community and faith.

As I prepare for NaNoWriMo this November, I’m gearing up to draft the entire book in just 30 days! 🖊️✨ NaNoWriMo, short for National Novel Writing Month, is a fun, grassroots movement of writers who challenge themselves to complete a novel in the month of November. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow writers and push our creative boundaries. If you want to learn more or join the challenge, check out the NaNoWriMo homepage.

This project holds a special place in my heart, and I’m eager to explore how faith intertwines with the coming-of-age experiences of the characters. I believe that through storytelling, we can inspire others to seek their own paths of faith and understanding.

Stay tuned for updates as I embark on this exciting journey of creativity, and feel free to share any tips or encouragement as I take on this NaNoWriMo adventure!

P.S. I’ve been watching YA author Sara Cannon and participating with her writing group as we prepare our chapter brainstorms for NaNoWriMo. It’s been incredibly inspiring!
