Don’t Get Mad, Get Obedient

A Message for Chrissy Teigen
A blog of obedience. A letter to a daughter of the Most High.

by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

I didn’t ask for this.
In fact, I resisted it for months.

Back in March and April, my little boy Liam was going through intense growing pains. Almost every night around 2 or 3 a.m., I’d find myself at his bedside—warming socks filled with rice, gently rubbing his legs, whispering prayers over him through the darkness. I was tired, but those hours became holy.

In the background, his kids’ Alexa speaker played instrumental lullabies to comfort him, and one night, a familiar melody drifted through—John Legend, in lullaby form. That’s when the Lord whispered something that caught me off guard:

“Pray for Chrissy Teigen.”

I replied—honestly and unfiltered—“Lord, I don’t care about Chrissy Teigen.”
His answer was direct and piercing: “I DO.”

So began my midnight intercession for a woman I’d never met and had never given much thought to until now. It felt strange, surreal even—but I obeyed. I prayed over her health, her marriage, her mind, her motherhood, and as I prayed, I felt God’s heart weep for her, long for her, call to her.

This morning, after my time in the Word, the Lord brought it back to the surface. Not as a suggestion, but as a command: “Write what I gave you. Post it. This is not for you to withhold. Don’t get mad. Get obedient.”

So here is the word the Father gave me to deliver, just as He said it:

📜 To Chrissy, From the Father:

Sometimes I take things from you because you won’t put them down like I have warned.
So I have taken this from you.
It is dangerous to your health and to your growth with Me.
Please stop asking for it back.
Be obedient, Child.

I will have many more opportunities to bless you and to bestow My favor upon you, but for now stay steadfast and wait upon Me.
You do hear from Me in the night, and you are not crazy.

Repent, My child, and turn to Me, and I will make all the crooked places straight and renew your strength and heal your body and give you peace.
I will give you back what you’ve lost tenfold!

Choose Me.
Put Me ahead of everything else, for I am your God, and you are My daughter—whom I love very much.

Don’t get mad, My child—just be obedient.
In time, you will understand.

Now tell John it is okay and that you both will wait.
He will play for Me soon—in your home and around the world.

Behold, I do a new thing inside of each of you and your children.

I love you, Chrissy.
So very much.

—Your Father.

I do not know what the Lord has taken from you.
I do not know what you’ve been asking Him to give back.
But I know His voice. I know the sound of love that corrects, and calls, and heals.

This letter isn’t written to impress.
It’s written in fear of the Lord, and faith in His goodness.

So if this reaches you, Chrissy, I pray you’ll hear it not as judgment—but as invitation. The same invitation we are all offered:
Come home.
Come close.
Be obedient.

He loves you. Fiercely.
And He’s not done writing your story.
