Finishing Strong: Completing the Revisions on Seeking Jesus Everyday for Teen Boys

by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

After months of writing, revising, and praying over every word, I’m excited to share that the teen boys’ version of Seeking Jesus Everyday is finally finished! 🎉 Completing the revisions and edits for this devotional has been both a challenge and a blessing, and I’m thrilled to see how God will use this book to speak to young men as they walk out their faith.

Why This Devotion Matters
As I worked through each section, my heart kept returning to one key thought: young men today face so many pressures—from school, social media, friendships, and the world’s expectations. It’s easy to get lost in all of it. That’s why Seeking Jesus Everyday is designed to ground them in the one thing that will never change—who they are in Christ. The goal of this devotional is to help them build a strong foundation in their faith and to remind them that no matter what life throws their way, Jesus is their anchor.

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 3:11
This verse speaks to the core of the devotional, emphasizing that Jesus is the unshakable foundation on which their faith and identity are built. 💪

Key Themes in the Devotional
The devotional covers a variety of themes, all aimed at guiding teen boys through the challenges they face. Here are some of the main focuses:

  • Identity in Christ:
With so many influences trying to define who they are, it’s crucial for young men to know their true identity as children of God. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1). This theme runs throughout the devotional, encouraging them to hold fast to their identity in Christ, no matter what the world says.
  • Decision Making:
Life as a teenager is full of tough decisions, and Seeking Jesus Everyday emphasizes the importance of seeking God’s wisdom in those moments. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5). Every day, boys are reminded to turn to God for guidance in both big and small decisions.
  • Building Christ-Centered Friendships:
Friendships play a huge role in shaping a young person’s character. This devotional highlights the value of godly friendships and the importance of surrounding oneself with people who build them up in faith. “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” (1 Corinthians 15:33).
  • Persevering Through Trials:
Hardships are inevitable, but young men are reminded that Jesus is with them through every trial. “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” (James 1:12). This theme encourages resilience and trust in God’s promises.

Revising for a New Audience
Adapting the devotional for teen boys required more than just switching a few words or verses. I wanted to make sure that every day’s message resonated with their unique challenges. From making decisions to navigating friendships and handling peer pressure, this devotional is meant to meet them where they are and encourage them to look to Jesus in every moment. ✝️

What’s Next?
Now that the revisions are complete, I’m preparing for the next steps—finalizing the layout and getting ready to share it with the world. I’m incredibly excited for what’s to come and can’t wait for young men to dive into this devotional and experience the power of seeking Jesus daily.

If you’re a parent, youth leader, or someone who knows a teen boy who could use encouragement, stay tuned for updates on how to get a copy. This devotional is a tool to help them grow, strengthen their faith, and be reminded of who they are in Christ.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and prayed through this process with me. I’m grateful, and I know God has amazing plans ahead. 🙏✨
