A Deeper Approach to Relationship

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to become overwhelmed and distracted. We juggle responsibilities, face challenges, and sometimes lose sight of what truly matters: our relationship with the Father. One of the most beautiful ways to nurture this relationship is by finding our secret place—a special time and space dedicated to connecting with God.
What is Our Secret Place?
The secret place is more than just a physical location; it’s a state of being where we can retreat from the chaos of the world and enter into a sacred space with God. This could be a quiet corner in your home, a peaceful park, or even a moment of stillness in your car. Wherever it is, it should be a place where you can focus your heart and mind on God’s presence. (Matthew 6)
Why is It Important?
- Intimacy with the Father: Just as Jesus often withdrew to pray and spend time with His Father (Luke 5:16), we too need to carve out moments to deepen our relationship with God. This intimacy allows us to hear His voice and understand His heart for us.
- Renewal and Restoration: In our secret place, we can lay down our burdens, anxieties, and fears. God invites us to cast our cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7), and in return, He refreshes our spirits and restores our hope.
- Guidance and Wisdom: Seeking God in our secret place opens the door to His guidance. James 1:5 tells us that if we ask for wisdom, God will give it generously. By tuning our hearts to His, we can gain clarity and direction for our lives.
A Personal Word from the Lord
🌟A Deeper Approach🌟
Recently, the Lord Jesus spoke to me, reminding me of my need to seek this secret place. He said:
“I need you to sit and to be quiet and to know that I am God (Psalm 46:10). Just because things are different, it does not mean that things are bad. I am MOVING—give me a DEEPER approach. Give me a more sincere, interactive, dynamic relationship. I have separated you for a time of purpose and growth. Your everyday life needs to be as separate and as quiet as your mind has become. Cultivate a DEEPER APPROACH. Soak in My presence—not in your accomplishments or accolades, for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matthew 6:19-21). Seek ye first the KINGDOM, and ALL shall be added (Matthew 6:33). Matthew 6 should be understood and walked out, Jennifer Greene; learn it, know it, grow deeper in Me with it. I am teaching you how to LIVE Matthew 6; your Father, which sees in secret, shall reward you openly (Matthew 6:4). Remember, you are not being separated from Me; you are being separated from the world.”
Reflection and Application 💡
As we reflect on our secret place, let’s consider the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:6:
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
- Identify Your Secret Place: Think about where you can go to be alone with God. Is there a specific room in your house, a quiet spot outdoors, or even a place in your heart where you can retreat? Make it a priority to spend time there.
- Practice Prayer and Reflection: Use this time to pray sincerely. Pour out your heart to God, and allow His presence to wash over you. Meditate on Matthew 6:33, which encourages us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
- Embrace the Rewards of Solitude: Recognize that spending time with God in your secret place is a profound investment in your spiritual life. The rewards may not always be immediate, but trust that God sees your efforts and will honor your commitment.
Conclusion
Finding our secret place is essential for nurturing our relationship with the Father. In this sacred space, we can draw closer to Him, allowing His heart to shape ours. As we seek His presence, may we find peace, renewal, and the wisdom we need to navigate life’s challenges.

Prayer for a Deeper Approach
Heavenly Father, 🙏
I come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your presence in my secret place. Help me to be still and know that You are God. As I set aside distractions and worries, I ask that You fill my spirit with Your peace and understanding.
Teach me to cultivate a deeper relationship with You, free from the burdens of worldly accomplishments and accolades. Help me to seek first Your Kingdom, trusting that all I need will be provided. Remind me that I am not being separated from You, but from the chaos of this world.
Lord, I pray for clarity and wisdom as I navigate my daily life. May my heart be aligned with Yours, and may I find joy in Your presence. I ask that You guide me to grow closer to You each day, allowing Your light to shine through me.
