🌳✨ The Secret Tree Update: Chapter Four – The Encounter âś¨đźŚł

✨ Friend or Foe? ✨

by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

Hello, dear readers! I’m thrilled to share that Chapter Four: The Encounter is underway, and it’s shaping up to be a turning point in Evie’s story. In this chapter, Evie steps out of her comfort zone and finds herself amidst the vibrant atmosphere of a Fall Festival at the campground. Picture soft lights glowing like fireflies, the scent of cider swirling in the air, and the distant thrum of live music bringing everyone together. 🍂🎶

But it’s not just the festival that adds excitement to the story—Evie meets someone who will change everything. Enter Alex, the confident, local drummer whose smile is as enigmatic as the dark eyes that meet hers across the crowd. Is he a friend? A foe? Or something in between? The intrigue builds as their brief interaction leaves Evie questioning more than just her feelings—it sends a shiver of uncertainty that hints at deeper secrets waiting to be uncovered.

Sneak Peek: Evie took a hesitant step toward the stage as the crisp October air whispered around her, carrying with it the notes of the band’s warm-up. Her eyes found Alex in the midst of the bustling crowd—sticks in hand, a grin playing at the corners of his mouth as he effortlessly tapped out a rhythm on the edge of a cymbal. The moment their eyes met, something unspoken sparked between them, a feeling that was equal parts excitement and caution.

“Hey, new girl,” he called out over the sound of the music, his voice deep and unexpectedly familiar. “Enjoying the show?”

Evie felt her heart skip, a reaction she wasn’t sure was excitement or dread. She forced a smile, nodding as she stepped further into the crowd, unaware that this encounter would be the start of more questions than answers.

As the song came to an end, Alex jumped down from the makeshift stage, the crowd parting around him. He walked up to Evie, close enough that she could see the faint scar above his left brow. “You should stick around,” he said, his voice quieter now, a challenge in his tone. “Things get interesting here after dark.”

Evie’s eyes narrowed, torn between curiosity and the instinct to step back. “I bet they do,” she replied, her voice stronger than she felt. And with that, the tension in the air thickened, leaving her to wonder just what kind of encounter she had stepped into.
