He Doesn’t Fall Off His Throne

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

Sometimes, the chaos of life feels overwhelming. But let me remind you: He doesn’t fall off of His throne. No matter what’s happening in your life or the world around you, God remains seated in power, sovereignty, and love.

He doesn’t fall off of His throne just because you choose not to believe.
He doesn’t fall off of His throne when you hurt your brother or sister in Christ—whether intentionally or unintentionally—without an apology or afterthought.

He doesn’t fall off of His throne because the enemy seems to run rampant in this nation or in others.
He doesn’t fall off of His throne because the world rejects Jesus, the greatest gift humankind has ever been given.

He doesn’t fall off of His throne because of tragedy, death, or the dangerous seeds sown by you or your family. He doesn’t fall off of His throne because of constant pain, addiction, lies, principalities, powers, or the schemes of the enemy.

God remains God. High and lifted up. The Alpha. The Omega. The Beginning. The End.
Do you want to know Him? Or will you let yourself continue to be tossed about in the sea of confusion, guilt, or despair?

A Call to Seek Him

If you call on the name of Jesus, He will meet you exactly where you are. The Bible promises this in Jeremiah 29:13:
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

He doesn’t hide Himself from those who cry out to Him. He shows up in the stillness, in the storm, and in the fire. But let me warn you: you won’t find Him among the tares. **(see post script)

Don’t look for Him in the broken systems of this world, in people’s opinions, or even in your own strength. Instead, search for your Savior because He is already RUNNING after you. He is the Victor, and through Him, you too can claim victory over every situation, circumstance, and scheme of the enemy.

Practical Steps to Embrace His Victory

  1. Call on His Name
    Romans 10:13 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Speak His name with faith, and He will respond.
  2. Seek Him in His Word
    Open your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s truth to you. Hebrews 4:12 reminds us, “For the word of God is alive and active.”
  3. Pray Without Ceasing
    Pour out your heart to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
  4. Trust His Sovereignty
    Remember, His plans are perfect even when we don’t understand them. Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

A Prayer for Trust and Surrender

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being steadfast and unchanging in a world full of chaos and confusion. You never fall off of Your throne, and You are faithful to keep every promise You’ve made. Help me to trust You in every area of my life.

Lord, I call out to You today. Meet me where I am. Straighten the crooked places in my life, and remind me that through You, I am more than a conqueror. When I feel overwhelmed, help me to seek You and rest in Your unshakable presence.

I surrender my fears, doubts, and pain to You, knowing that You are my refuge, my strength, and my victory. Thank You for running after me with Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection

What are you facing today that makes you feel like the world is crumbling around you? Take a moment to reflect on the truth: God doesn’t fall off of His throne. Write down the areas of your life where you need to surrender control to Him and watch as He works all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Choose life! Choose Him and His everlasting love NOW! Don’t wait.

Post Script: What Are Tares? 🌾

In the Bible, “tares” refer to a type of weed that resembles wheat but lacks the substance of the real crop. This imagery is drawn from the Parable of the Tares in Matthew 13:24-30, where Jesus describes how an enemy sows tares among the wheat. When the plants grow, it becomes hard to distinguish between the two until the harvest.

Spiritually, tares symbolize those who may appear righteous outwardly but lack a true connection to God or His purposes. They can also represent distractions, deceptions, or anything counterfeit that draws us away from the truth of God’s Word. This is a powerful reminder not to look for answers or validation in things—or people—that may appear genuine but lack the heart of Christ. Instead, we are called to focus on Jesus, the true source of life and salvation. 🙏

The primary scripture reference for the parable of the tares is Matthew 13:24-30 and Matthew 13:36-43, where Jesus explains the parable. Here’s the full text in the King James Version (KJV):

Matthew 13:24-30 (The Parable of the Tares)

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Matthew 13:36-43 (Jesus Explains the Parable)

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
