Today, as I read Job 42, the final chapter of Job’s story, the Lord gave me a word that pierced my heart and brought clarity to this current moment for His church. Let’s begin by reflecting on Job’s story and the powerful truths found in this chapter.
The Story of Job 42
In Job 42, we see how God restores Job after his long season of suffering and endurance. Job’s story is one of testing, humility, and ultimate blessing. When Job prayed for his friends, God not only forgave them but also restored Job with a double portion of everything he had lost.
This chapter reminds us of key principles:
- Intercession Brings Mercy: Job’s prayer for his friends led to their restoration and forgiveness.
- Faithfulness Leads to Restoration: Despite his trials, Job remained faithful to God, and his latter days were blessed beyond measure.
- God’s Justice is Perfect: Job’s suffering was not without purpose, and God’s plan brought both vindication and blessing.
As I meditated on this chapter, the Lord gave me a word for the church, one that reflects His current work of judgment and restoration among His people.
A Word from the Lord
*”I want you to understand that the wealth transfer and the shift of prosperity within the church are happening at this moment. I am separating the wheat from the chaff inside the church. You can pray for your corrupt brothers and sisters, and I may show them mercy and allow them to live; however, they will no longer have a position at My table. You and your brothers and sisters with the hearts and the long-suffering of Job will rise from the ash and the nothing. I am bringing you to the forefront at My table. Feast with a double portion of what you’ve never had till this point; you, your children, and their children will build My church.
Judgment begins in My house, and what you see in the world now is simple reaping of the harvest that the world has sown (like Job’s friends). When judgment comes, the corrupt will die; some will fall instantly where they stand when My judgment falls. Repent and turn away from your corruption before it’s too late. Repent, you prideful, adulterating, drug-taking liars who steal and rob My children from their very inheritance! Your time is so insignificant—so very short.”*
Judgment and the Call to Repentance
The word carries a sobering warning: God’s judgment is imminent. The corrupt—those who walk in pride, deceit, and sin—are called to repent before it is too late. As in the days of Job, judgment will bring clarity and separation. Some will fall instantly, while others may have time to turn back to Him.
“Repent, you prideful, adulterating, drug-taking liars who steal and rob My children from their very inheritance! Your time is so insignificant—so very short.”
This is a call for every believer to examine their hearts, turn from sin, and return to God with humility and obedience. He is a God of mercy, but also a God of justice.
A Promise of Restoration
For those who remain faithful, God’s promise is clear:
“You and your brothers and sisters with the hearts and the long-suffering of Job will rise from the ash and the nothing. I am bringing you to the forefront at My table. Feast with a double portion of what you’ve never had till this point; you, your children, and their children will build My church.”
Just as Job received a double portion, God is preparing a feast for those who have endured. This is a season of restoration for His faithful, where blessings will flow not only to them but also to their children and future generations.
Reflection and Action
- Examine Your Heart: Are there areas in your life where you need to repent and turn back to God? His mercy is available, but the time is short.
- Intercede for Others: Pray for those who have strayed, including corrupt church leaders, asking God to show them mercy and bring them to repentance.
- Prepare for Restoration: If you have endured faithfully, trust that God is working to restore you and bring you into a season of blessing.
- Build His Church: Remember that the blessings are not for us alone but to equip us to build His kingdom and glorify His name.
A Closing Prayer
Lord, we humbly come before You, acknowledging our need for Your mercy and grace. Search our hearts and reveal any areas where we have strayed from Your will. We repent and turn back to You, asking for Your forgiveness and restoration. Strengthen us to endure, to intercede for others, and to walk faithfully in Your calling. May we rise from the ashes and build Your church for generations to come. Amen.
Post Script: Abundance for the Faithful
As we reflect on the message from Job 42 and the word from the Lord, let us not miss the profound promise of abundance for those who remain faithful. God is preparing a table of restoration and blessing for His people. For those who have endured trials and stood firm in their faith, the Lord’s reward is greater than anything we can imagine. The double portion is not just material; it’s the spiritual inheritance of peace, joy, and a legacy that will glorify Him for generations to come.
Job 42
1 Then Job replied to the Lord:
2 “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3 You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.
4 “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.’
5 My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.
6 Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”
7 After the Lord had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has. 8 So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and sacrifice a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.” 9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite did what the Lord told them; and the Lord accepted Job’s prayer.
10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. 11 All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring.
12 The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. 13 And he also had seven sons and three daughters. 14 The first daughter he named Jemimah, the second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch. 15 Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.
16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. 17 And so Job died, an old man and full of years.
