Renewing the Mind–Day 2

📖 Day 2: The Mind Transformed by the Truth

📖 Day 2: The Mind Transformed by the Truth

Scripture:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
— Romans 12:2 (ESV)

💡 Reflecting on Romans 12:2:

This verse reminds us that transformation isn’t something we do on our own—it’s something God does in us when we stop letting the world shape our thoughts.

Before your mind is renewed, the world will give you a script:

  • “You’re not enough.”
  • “This is just who you are.”
  • “God has forgotten you.”

When you surrender your thoughts to the renewing power of Jesus, your inner life begins to change. Your thoughts align with heaven; you stop asking, “What do I feel?” and start asking, “What does God say?”

Renewal requires more than a one-time prayer. It’s an active, daily, purposeful refusal to be molded by the world and a full yes to being remade by God’s truth. A renewed mind doesn’t panic—it pauses and prays. A renewed mind doesn’t jump to conclusions—it seeks understanding.

Let God retrain the way you think. Allow His Spirit to rewrite your default reactions. When you no longer conform, you begin to discern.

Restoration Is Real: A Reflection of Victory in the Mind

When we give Jesus permission and authority to transform our minds through intentional prayer and study of His Word, He does what only He can do—He restores. He rewires. He redeems.

Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

Today, my Facebook memories reminded me of one of the hardest days of my life. In 2021, my daughter Sophia ran away. She was 17, traumatized, and tormented relentlessly in her mind. The picture from that day is hard for me to look at even after four years. Her face, her posture—it all told the story of a young woman at war in her thoughts.

Though she was deeply loved, she couldn’t feel it. Her mind, afflicted and clouded, made her believe lies that pushed her away from safety and into danger. We lived through 76 of the darkest days I have ever known.

But GOD.

He never stopped pursuing her. He never stopped renewing her. And now, in 2025, I can say with a heart full of tears and triumph: Sophia is being restored. Her mind is clearer. Her body is stronger. Her countenance reflects the victory of a girl being made new in Christ. She is a living testimony that the renewing of your mind is not just a spiritual phrase—it is a lifeline. That is Revelation 12:11 in living color:

“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” (NIV)

Sophia and I are walking proof of this promise—our testimony is a weapon, a banner of victory, and a spark of hope for every mama praying over a prodigal or anyone battling for a renewed mind.

Declaration of Victory:
We are overcomers. Not because we were strong, but because Jesus IS. Not because we had all the answers, but because He never left us. By the blood of the Lamb and the testimony of what He has done in our family, we stand in victory.

Sophia’s healing is still unfolding, but so is her purpose. And I will keep telling this story—our story—because it proves that nothing is too broken for the hands of Jesus to restore. Your life and your testimony will be your declarations of victory as well!!

Romans 12:2 reminds us:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…”

A mind renewed by Christ doesn’t just “feel better.” It becomes a battlefield won. When you live double-minded—professing faith but feeding fear, declaring truth but entertaining lies—you are torn between two masters. That kind of instability will drain the life from you.

But with Jesus—when you abide, when you sit in prayer, when you give Him your loudest thoughts and darkest memories—He creates space for His truth to bloom.

He’s not afraid of your brokenness. He’s already prepared your healing. Ultimately, He knows the end from the beginning, and He has purposed and planned to liberate your mind from torment, preparing it for restoration and for renewal.

🙏 Prayer:

Father, I confess I’ve often let the world tell me who I am and what I should think. Today, I ask You to reshape my mind. Fill me with Your Word and Your wisdom. Teach me to recognize Your will in every decision and moment. I want to be transformed by You—not conformed to anything else. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Challenge:

When a negative or worldly thought creeps in today, don’t just let it pass. Capture it. Replace it. Speak truth over yourself out loud. Start with: “I am not conformed to this world—I am being transformed by God’s truth.” Speak life and not death over yourself and over members of your household! Declare and decree the very life and restoration that Jesus has so graciously given you; I promise your life will not be the same as soon as you use the authority that He so freely gives to you.

🙏 Prayer of Gratefulness and Thanksgiving

Father,
I come before You today with a heart that overflows with gratitude. Thank You for restoration. Thank You for redemption. Thank You for renewing not only my mind but my spirit, my heart, and my home.

Lord, You saw every broken place, every battle we fought in silence, every tear we shed in the night—and You never left us. You walked with us through the fire, and not only did we survive, but You refined us.

Thank You, Jesus, for Sophia. Thank You for her renewed mind, her healing, her hope. Thank You for sparing her life, even when darkness surrounded her. Your mercy chased her down, and now she walks in the light of Your love. Continue the good work You have started in her.

Thank You for Liam’s joy, for Kasey’s strength, for Anya’s calling, for Bailey’s love of children, and for Chris—my husband, my provider, my steady rock. Thank You for a family that, though imperfect, is wrapped in Your perfect grace.

Lord, I praise You that what the enemy meant for evil, You have used for good. You are the Restorer of all things. Let our home be a sanctuary of Your presence, a testimony of Your mercy, and a lighthouse for other families still waiting for their breakthrough.

I give You all the glory, all the honor, and all my thanks.

In the mighty, merciful, victorious name of Jesus,
Amen. 🙌

P.S. To the witch who is reading this blog at this very moment, give Jesus a try! You’ve tried everything else and every chant and every evil. Let Jesus have a go at your mind and your heart. I promise you’ve never experienced such wonders and such love in your life. You’ve not gone too far that Jesus cannot redeem you.Let Jesus speak this over you today:

“Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.”
Luke 7:47 (ESV)

If you refuse to choose Him today, you may not have another opportunity. I can promise you this whether or not you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior is irrelevant to your ability to affect me and what God has for my life because, Honey, you’re barking up the wrong tree!
