The FIRE comes before the provision.
by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan
Abraham’s footsteps must have been unbearably heavy as he and Isaac climbed Mount Moriah. Scripture tells us that God tested Abraham, commanding him to take his beloved son—his promised son, the very one through whom God had said all nations would be blessed—and offer him as a burnt sacrifice.
Imagine the weight of that journey. Each step represented obedience in its purest, most painful form. Abraham did not delay. He did not question. He rose early the next morning, saddled his donkey, gathered the wood, and set out in faith. His heart must have trembled, yet his trust in God never wavered.
Isaac, too, showed obedience and faith. When he asked his father, “The fire and the wood are here, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” (Genesis 22:7), Abraham responded with prophetic assurance: “God Himself will provide the lamb.”
Together, they walked on—father and son, faith and obedience intertwined. Abraham built the altar, arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac upon it. In that sacred moment of surrender, God provided. A ram, caught in the thicket, became the substitute. Abraham called that place Jehovah Jireh, “The Lord Will Provide.”
This story has echoed through the generations as a testament to faith that obeys, even when understanding fails. It reminds us that obedience positions us to see God’s provision and power.
As I sat reflecting on Abraham’s obedience and Isaac’s willingness, the Holy Spirit began to stir something urgent within me—a message not just for me, but for the Church.
Before you read, I invite you to pause and pray with me:
Prayer of Preparation
Father, still my heart and open my ears.
Quiet my distractions and make my spirit sensitive to Yours.
If there is correction, help me receive it with humility.
If there is warning, help me respond with obedience.
If there is revelation, help me hold it close and discern rightly.
Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
The Father’s Words as Received
The certain urgency that is in the spirit and in the earth remains so palpable today. Can you fathom it, Church? Can you fathom it, leaders of my Body? I am revealing to my servant little glimpses at a time as to not overwhelm her because she is so sensitive, but You all are running out of time. So, I will let her teach as she will begin this post. But know that you time for learning is like the flakes of dust left in the top of an hour glass right before it has totally emptied into the bottom. Your time of comfortability HAS ended. The enemy comes to steal and to destroy you even as you sit in your pew. Do you even discern him when he arrives? He sits beside you and speaks to you, yet you do not even notice.
Some of my servants see him right away, but you sit and stew in your own selfishness without discernment of what the enemy does in your churches, in your lives, in your nation, in your world. Will you know what I do? It is clearly written in my holy book for you. Do you even read it? Nay! You do not. Even if you do read it, your eyes and ears are so dull that the Holy Spirit cannot even bring my words to your remembrance. You know nothing to remember. Out of a great wind in November, I will blow a trumpet so loud that you will know that my Son comes. Wake up! The wind will blow you right out of your beds.
The wind will blow you right out of your stupor. Intercessors pray for opening of the body’s eyes and ears. The wind will blow the harvest right into your facilities, yet will you nurture my harvest? Will you know how to love my babies? Will you be the reason my babies turn away from my very house? Be a house of prayer, CHURCH! Not a house of debauchery. Not a house of dry bones. Be a house full of oil and anointing. So since you are too comfortable to care, I will SHAKE YOU AWAKE!!
My bride will be without blemish one way or the other. My daughter wants to talk about provision, and it will surely come. She wants to look for the LAMB. He will come in the clouds with a loud voice and a call to KOUM! KOUM! KOUM! Yet, so many of you will watch from the ground and not arise as instructed because you are dead spiritually. Tick tock, People.

The November wind will blow fire right into your front door. Before Abraham went to give his son to me, Isaac noticed the fire and the wood, and he said, “Father, I see the fire and the wood, yet where is the lamb?” In time, that’s where you are. You will see the fire and the wood before the LAMB of GOD comes to retrieve His bride. Honey, don’t be insulted that I highjacked your post, you asked Me to speak, and so I have. Intercessors pray for the fire on the wood will be lit before the provision of God is displayed. Woe be unto the people who are indecisive and do not trust the very discernment and Holy Ghost fire I shut into their very bones–the unbelief will lead them astray. They will miss it due to indecision and unbelief. Now, I will let my daughter teach for she loves it so, but just know that I give my prophets NOTICE, and NOTICE you have received. The BURNING time is upon you. Woe unto the undecided–you will burn up like chaff.
The Provision in the Thicket
As I continue to ponder what the Lord said to me this morning, I am reminded of the thicket. When Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the ram caught in the thicket, he understood—God provides before we even know we are in need. The substitute had already been prepared. The moment Abraham’s hand was raised in obedience; heaven had already released provision.
That same pattern of divine mercy repeated on another hill, generations later. On Golgotha, another Father gave His Son. Another Lamb was offered in our place. This time, there would be no substitute—because Jesus is the Lamb, the once-for-all sacrifice, the complete and perfect provision for humanity.
The God who provided for Abraham on Mount Moriah is still Jehovah Jireh today. He still calls us to radical obedience, unwavering faith, and steadfast trust in His timing. However, He also reminds us: provision always follows obedience.
The “fire in the woods” Abraham and Isaac saw represents more than a distant flame—it symbolizes the refining fire of faith– the holy urgency that now stirs within the Body of Christ. We are being refined, tested, and invited to trust again in the Lord who provides.
May we not be found asleep when the trumpet sounds. May we, like Abraham, walk in obedience, ready to see God’s provision unfold in ways we could never imagine.
A Prayer for Readiness
Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides,
Thank You for the thicket where mercy waits.
Thank You for the Lamb who bore my sin and shame.
When the fire burns around me, teach me to trust You still.
Wake Your Church, Lord—shake us from our slumber and refine our hearts.
Open our eyes to see the fire in the woods and our ears to hear Your call.
May our obedience draw us nearer to Your presence,
And may our lives testify that the Lamb has come.
In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
SCRIPTURAL APPENDIX
I. Abraham’s Obedience and the Provision of the Lamb
1. Genesis 22:1–14 (NIV)
Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied… Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” He said… Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns… So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide.
2. Hebrews 11:17–19
By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice… Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead.
3. James 2:21–23
Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
4. John 1:29

5. Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?

You were redeemed… with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
8. John 19:17–18
