My heart is heavy today. As Hurricane Milton 🌀 barrels towards the coast of Florida, my husband’s parents, who live in Clearwater, have made the heartbreaking decision not to evacuate. 💔 It’s a choice that weighs heavily on our hearts, especially my husband’s, who has pleaded with them to come to Georgia for safety. Watching him grapple with their decision has reminded me of something deeply important: the legacy we are building for our children.
Legacy is more than just the tangible things we leave behind; it’s the spiritual foundation we set in place for future generations. 🌿 And today, as we navigate the emotions surrounding the safety of our loved ones, I am reminded of the promises I have made to my own children.
The decisions we make as parents reflect the promises we keep for our children. I have committed to building a legacy of life and victory in the Lord Jesus—a legacy that will carry on long after I am gone. ✝️ My husband and I are actively shaping the future through the way we live, love, and serve God. And it is in these moments, when emotions run high, that I feel the weight and the beauty of that calling.

As I reflect on relying on my faith during this upcoming storm, I feel more committed than ever to the promises I’m creating for my children. 💖 While my heart aches for my in-laws, who have chosen not to evacuate ahead of Hurricane Milton, I am reminded of God’s unfailing promises of protection and love. Just as I trust Him with my children’s future, I trust that His hand will be over my in-laws, guarding them in the midst of the storm. 🌊✨
A Prayer for Protection 🙏
Lord, I lift up my in-laws to you. 🙏 I ask for your mighty hand of protection to surround them as they weather this storm. Shield them from harm, grant them peace in the face of uncertainty, and guide them safely through this time of trial. May they feel your presence and find refuge in your love. 💖 Keep them safe, Lord, and bring them through this storm, just as you promise to bring us all through the storms of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ✝️
