🎉 September 15 is Release Day—for Chris and for Chatterbox! 📚🎂

🎉 I am ready to celebrate with The First Grade Chatterbox RELEASE🎂

by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

Some birthdays are worth shouting about… or chattering about, in this case! 🗣️

I am so excited to announce that my newest children’s book, The First Grade Chatterbox, will be officially released on September 15, 2025—the same day my husband Chris turns 50! What better way to celebrate his milestone than with a new book baby entering the world? (This book baby is the type of baby we have anymore! I promise. 🙂

This story has been close to my heart since the moment it was born from a little idea about a big voice. It’s silly and sweet, honest and heartfelt. At its core, it’s about learning when to speak, when to listen, and how to apologize when we get it wrong. Perfect for classrooms, families, and school counselors, this book encourages:

  • social-emotional learning,
  • empathy,
  • self-control, and
  • the importance of kindness and forgiveness.

🎨 With charming illustrations by Joshua Wichterich, The First Grade Chatterbox follows a boy who loves to talk—about bugs, breakfast, and even tractor tires—but doesn’t yet know how to listen. A creative consequence (a cardboard box!), a moment of silence, and a classroom conflict lead to a surprising transformation.

Here’s a sneak peek from the book:

😭 Cue the tears—and the growth.

By the end of the story, we watch our hero take off the box and rediscover something even more powerful than being heard: being loved.

💛 Pre-order the Kindle Edition now for just $5!

Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and love. I can’t wait to share the Chatterbox’s story with your family, your students, and your heart. I truly can’t wait to bring this book into classrooms soon—I just know the first graders especially are going to love my Chatterbox. 🧡📚

This little Chatterbox has been whispering (and sometimes shouting!) in my imagination since Liam was 6, and watching him finally come to life on the page has been such a gift. I can already picture the giggles, the knowing nods from teachers, and the wide-eyed moments of recognition from kids as they see a bit of themselves in him.

Chris and I may be celebrating in different ways this September 15—he with a big “5-0” cake, me with a brand-new book—but both milestones feel like the start of something wonderful. Here’s to big voices, kind hearts, and stories that make us better listeners.
