Rejection of a Different Sort

by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

Well, I have been so eager to be published that I have often felt that I HAD to accept whatever terms were sent to me. However, now that I have dealt with three different publishers with several different offers and books, I realize that I can reject contracts or negotiate for better terms.

I hope that this rejection will be returned with a counter offer, but if I never see a counter offer from Olympia, I know another publisher will pick it up, especially, since I still have two others who have yet to send me a contract. I rather have an agent pick me up and negotiate for me; unfortunately, it’s only me for now.

Cheers to Mr. James Houghton. I hope to hear from you again soon.

Update: No counteroffer was given. 😦
