Sneak Peek: Dirt Road Rascals is Almost Here!

I love this story!!
by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

Every now and then, a story takes root in your heart before it ever hits the page. Dirt Road Rascals was one of those stories for me.

It started with two siblings, a missed highway exit, and a whole lot of Georgia red dirt—and quickly turned into something bigger. What began as a playful backroads adventure grew into a tale of bravery, cleverness, and the bond between family that sticks stronger than pine sap.

I’m thrilled to give you a sneak peek into this illustrated chapter book for second and third grade readers:

“We’ll be back in five minutes,” Grady said, holding up the old compass they found by the creek.

But five minutes turned into one missed trail… and then another. And soon enough, Dottie Rose and Grady were lost. Not just ‘turned around’ lost—but deep in the Georgia woods with nothing but beef jerky, a busted compass, and a whole lot of hope between them.”

What to Expect from Dirt Road Rascals:

🌿 10 fast-paced, illustrated chapters
🎒 Relatable sibling dynamics full of bickering, bravery, and bonding
🐍 A rattlesnake encounter that’s equal parts suspenseful and hilarious
🍰 Sweet tea, pound cake, and porch wisdom from a grandpa you’ll never forget
🎯 A slingshot-wielding friend named Lark who just might steal the show
🧭 Themes of getting lost—and found—on the dirt roads of life
❤️ Christian values woven gently into the heart of the story

Whether you’re reading aloud with your child or stocking your classroom library, Dirt Road Rascals is a wholesome, high-energy journey perfect for young readers who love adventure, humor, and a whole lot of heart.

Stay tuned—the rascals are getting ready to roll!
