Silenced? Not Today.

Nor any other day for that matter!!
by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

This morning, I woke up to war.

Not one of chaos or circumstance—but spiritual warfare. It came quickly, heavily, and without clear cause. As I began to pray and discern what was trying to press itself into my spirit, the Lord answered with one clear word:

“The Silencer.”

I paused. The Silencer? That was a new name to me. I have experienced much in deliverance ministry, but not this. However, immediately, I knew it was true.
Not fear. Not confusion. Not shame.
This spirit is one that comes to muzzle the mouth of the bold

At first, I felt the heaviness. Then… I laughed–in my spirit then aloud.
I laughed because the irony was too rich—the enemy trying to silence me?
Me? The one with the BIG mouth?
The one who talks more than she writes? The one who has always stood out with her voice—sometimes too much?

I have written more than once in this very blog how my mouth has gotten me in trouble in professional settings, in ministry, and in personal relationships.
Guess what?

I was made to STAND OUT.
I was made to speak up.
I was made to proclaim the works of the Lord with this voice of mine!

“I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord.” —Psalm 118:17 (ESV)

Since Christmas, I’ve been in a quiet season. Not because I lost my fire—but because God asked me to sit and listen. To let the stillness stretch me. To let the silence sanctify me.

But this morning, Jesus revealed that the enemy knows something: My quiet season is almost over.

Soon—very soon—I will take up the baton of praise, of worship, of testimony.
I will speak freely, boldly, without fear—within the boundaries of obedience to my Shepherd alone. No man or entity of the enemy will stop what the Lord Himself has purposed and ordained.

So today, I say this for myself and for you:

Do not let “The Silencer” steal your voice.
Do not agree with the darkness.
Do not bow to the pressure to shrink back or stay quiet.

Because we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

“And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” —Revelation 12:11 (ESV)

If you’re holding back out of fear, shame, insecurity, or doubt—hear this:

🔊 You are not called to silence.
🔥 You are called to proclaim.
🗝️ And your voice—submitted to Christ—is a weapon of liberation.

Speak, child of God.
Testify.
Declare.
Laugh at the plans of the enemy.
And shout your freedom from the rooftops.

📖 Bible Study: The Power of Your Voice

  1. Revelation 12:11 (ESV)

“And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”
☑️ Your testimony is warfare. It’s not just personal—it’s powerful.

  1. Jeremiah 1:9 (ESV)

“Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, ‘Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.’”
☑️ The enemy fears your voice because God has filled it with His truth.

  1. Acts 4:20 (ESV)

“For we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”
☑️ True followers of Jesus cannot stay silent—testimony flows from experience.

  1. Isaiah 54:17 (ESV)

“No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment…”
☑️ Not only are you called to speak, but to refute lies with the authority of truth.

  1. Proverbs 18:21 (ESV)

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”
☑️ Your words create impact. Choose life. Speak truth. Don’t let the enemy steal your sound.

🔥 Challenge: Reclaim Your Voice

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you’ve allowed silence—rooted in fear, shame, doubt, or rejection—to hold power over your purpose.

“I will not be silenced. I will live and not die, and I will declare the works of the Lord!” (Psalm 118:17)

Let the enemy watch as the very mouth he tried to mute becomes a trumpet for God’s glory.

🙏 Prayer: Break the Silence

Jesus,
Thank You for giving me a voice that carries Your truth. I come against every lie, every label, and every silencing spirit that has tried to muzzle me. You are the one who put words in my mouth. You are the one who called me to declare, to praise, to testify. I break agreement with fear and step into my bold calling as a Kingdom daughter or a son with a voice of fire. Let my words bring healing, conviction, joy, and deliverance—because they are rooted in You. May I speak only what You say, and may every word give You glory. I will not be silenced. I will speak, I will worship, and I will testify—because You are worthy.
Amen.
