š„ Dottie Rose and Grady are coming in HOT!!
This week marks a milestone that feels both surreal and deeply personalāmy first chapter book, Dirt Road Rascals, is officially published and available on Amazon! šš

Iāve written devotionals, picture books, and poetry, but Dirt Road Rascals is something brand newāmy first longer narrative, full of mischief, family, Southern charm, and most of all, heart. It was so much fun to structure a longer narrative with a clear beginning, middle, and endāwatching the story unfold layer by layer. Writing Dirt Road Rascals gave me the joy of building tension, planting little seeds early on, and tying it all together in a satisfying and heartfelt conclusion.
šš Meet the Rascals
This story introduces two unforgettable siblings:

- Dottie Rose ā a confident, quick-witted softball star who doesnāt back down from a challenge.
- Grady Greene ā a curious and tender-hearted fisherman who dreams of catching more than just bass.
Their adventures unfold on the dusty roads and quiet corners of rural Georgiaāand trust me, trouble always seems to find them. How exactly do these two end up stranded in the woods in South Georgia away from their very worried parents? You’re going to have to grab a copy to find out!!
⨠Sneak Peek #1
Chapter One: Trouble on the BackroadsĀ
Dottie Rose Greene could throw a softball faster than any girl in Bleckley County. Her little brother, Grady, swore she was half tornado. “Dottie Rose, you done near knocked the dust off that pitchin’ mound!” he’d holler from behind the dugout.
Grady Greene had his own dreamsānot of ballfields and bleachers but of fishing boats and bass tournaments. He was the best cane pole angler under four foot ten this side of the Ocmulgee River, and he’d tell you so himself.
The Greene kids had been raised country-styleāon a patch of farmland with chickens that didn’t listen, goats that wandered too much, and a pond out back filled with stories. Their Mama packed snacks in Mason jars, and their Daddy made sure they knew how to fix a flat tire, clean fish, and keep their word.
⨠Sneak Peek #2
Chapter Two: Lost Like a Goose in a Hailstorm
Grady pushed back a pine branch and peered through the underbrush. āI think I saw a deer trail!ā he whispered.
Dottie Rose rolled her eyes. āGreat. Maybe itāll lead us to a vending machine.ā
They were deep now. The air was humid and buzzing with insects. Dottieās cleats were not meant for forest walking, and Gradyās fishing pole kept getting caught in vines.
āYou better hope weāre not missing my game for nothin’,ā Dottie Rose grumbled.
Grady shrugged. āYou wanted an adventure.ā
š Why This Book Means So Much
This isnāt just a bookāitās a love letter to small towns, sibling bonds, and the wild imagination of a simple, country childhood. Writing Dirt Road Rascals reminded me that simple stories rooted in family, faith, and a little fun can carry deep truth.
Iām overwhelmed with gratitude to see this story reach young readers, especially those who live on dirt roads of their own.
