500 Posts Later: Still Saying Yes

by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

Five hundred posts.

When I saw that number today, I had to pause. Not because of the milestone itself—but because of everything it represents. Five hundred times I sat down to write. Five hundred moments of obedience.
Five hundred opportunities to reflect, to process, to praise, to wrestle, and to testify, and the truth is… I never set out to write 500 posts.

I just kept saying yes to the calling that Yahweh put in my heart. Yes to the nudge to write when I didn’t feel like it. Yes to sharing when it felt vulnerable.
Yes to documenting what God was doing—even when I didn’t fully understand it yet. Some of these posts were written in seasons of joy, yet others were written through tears. Some posts came easily, flowing from a full heart. Others were wrestled out, word by word, heartache by heartache. Every single one of word, thought, and testimony matters because every single one of them is a piece of the story God is writing in my life.

There was a time when writing felt like something I used to do. Something I loved… but wasn’t sure I would ever fully step back into because of the stress of my career. Then, everything changed. The Lord and my husband offered me an unexpected opportunity.

When I stepped away from teaching, I didn’t just leave a career—I stepped into a calling I had quietly carried for years. Sitting in my tiny house office, day after day, I began to write again. Not just occasionally—but faithfully, and somewhere along the way… I became what I once only hoped to be:

A writer.

Not because of a title.
Not because of recognition.
But because I write.

Over and over again.

Through these 500 posts, I have seen God move in ways I never expected. My words have reached readers across the world, and messages have come in at just the right time. Connections have been formed that only He could orchestrate. And today, I want to pause and say something that is deeply on my heart—

Thank you.

To my readers here at home in the US and especially to my readers around the world… thank you for being part of this journey with me. Thank you:

From the United States to Romania…
from Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore…
to Nigeria, India, and Ireland…
to Belize, Belgium, the Philippines, Latvia, and Australia…

I see you. I appreciate you. I pray that God blesses and keeps you. I am so incredibly humbled that words written from my little office in Georgia have reached you. That you have taken the time to read, to reflect, and to return because you are part of this story too. Daily, I pray that through these words, you have felt encouraged, seen, and reminded of God’s love for you—right where you are because this has never just been about writing.

It has always been about obedience.

It has always been about using what He gave me.

It has always been about pointing back to Him.

It has always been about loving others.

Recently, I wrote about sponsoring children across the world and how God has used something so simple to shift my perspective completely, and I can see now—that same thread has been woven through every post on this blog.

He takes what feels small…
And He multiplies it.

He takes our yes…
And He builds something eternal with it.

So today, I’m not just celebrating 500 posts.

I’m celebrating the faithfulness of God.
I’m celebrating the courage to begin again.
I’m celebrating the grace to keep going.

Now, I’m looking ahead with open hands and with an open heart because if the first 500 were built on simply saying yes…

Then, I can’t wait to see what He does next.

Reflection

What has God placed in your hands that you’ve been hesitant to use?

What might happen if you simply said yes—again and again?

Prayer

Father, thank You for every step of this journey. Thank You for the readers You have brought from near and far. Bless them, wherever they are in the world. Encourage their hearts, meet their needs, and draw them closer to You. Help us all to be faithful with what You’ve given us. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I am an English teacher, mother, and wife, but I love to write. I feel that I am blessed to be able to use my talent to write about my children's books, poems, short fiction, and parenting. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about my experiences with beginning a writing career while focusing on my children and my job. I look forward to comments and to hear from my readers!
