My juniors in my first block American Literature class have been in my life for over two years now. I first met them when they were ninth graders, wondering the halls of the high school as scared little freshmen. It has been my honor to interact with them and watch them grow up and mature right before me each day.
I must admit that they have been my biggest fans. If I had a bad day, they would encourage me, nudging me to continue my writing. They would keep up with my blogging when I was pretty sure NO ONE was reading it. Then, this week, they couldn’t wait to inform me that Trilogy Publishing had established pre-orders for my children’s book: Purposeful Day. My response to them was: “NO WAY.”
Allen who sits in the back of the room replies, “I’ve already ordered it. You gonna sign it?” Suddenly, I felt like a little kid in a brand new arcade. I “googled” the book title, and I was amazed as ALL the pre-order options filled the page:
- Target
- Amazon
- Barnes and Nobles
- Trilogy’s website
Although I originally self published this book in March 2021, I do NOT have contacts, websites, public relations SASS, or any other marketing capabilities. I am simply a teacher and a writer, and that’s probably all I will ever be. However, having a publisher to do ALL that for me sure makes this author who teaches high school English very HAPPY. Thank you for my American Literature first block students who keeping up with my fledgling career as an author. You make an OLD lady happy and blessed.
