Preparing Esmerelda’s Surprise for a Publisher

Pegasus has expressed interest in Essie’s first book, and I really want it to get the attention it deserves. I am not happy with my original layout of the book now that I’ve had six months to look at it. So for the month of October, I am going to rework the layout and send it back to Pegasus for review.

After the review, I want to take their offer. I know that their layout and design team will do wonders with it, but I want to send them the best I have to offer. In addition, my illustrator of A Friend for Festus, Joshua Wichterich, is working on paintings for the sketches.

I am SO in love with his sketches for that book, and I am so happy with my writing for that series. 2021 will end with 3 books released. Maybe if I work harder during the Christmas break, I could get 3 new book releases for 2022. My side hustle never disappoints!!

I am an English teacher, mother, and wife, but I love to write. I feel that I am blessed to be able to use my talent to write about my children's books, poems, short fiction, and parenting. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about my experiences with beginning a writing career while focusing on my children and my job. I look forward to comments and to hear from my readers!
