Thank you, Lord, for a new exciting idea!
by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan
Tuesday, while riding home from Camper’s Inn, I was caught in that kind of awe only God can stir—watching giant, fluffy cumulus clouds roll across the sky like cotton castles. But this time, something different happened. I didn’t just see clouds… I saw characters.
Faces. Hands. Joy.
And then came the whisper—gentle, but firm:
“You will know them by their fruit.”
(Matthew 7:16)
Just like that, the Fruitful Fluff Family was born.

Yes, that’s really what I’m calling them! A whimsical family of personified clouds, each one representing a fruit of the Spirit:
Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-Control.
(Galatians 5:22-23)
These Fluffs live in the sky, delighting in their purpose—but even they face storms. Ultimately, it’s through those very storms that their fruit is tested and revealed.

I believe this will become a children’s series, with each book focusing on one “Fluff” and a moment when they must choose to live out the fruit they carry inside. I can already see the personalities forming—Joy Cloud bouncing through the sky, Peace Cloud floating steady in the breeze, and maybe a very wiggly Self-Control Cloud who just wants to zap lightning for fun but learns to wait on God’s timing.
I’m in love with the idea, but more than that—I’m in awe of the timing.
God is so creative, and when I give Him my imagination, He fills it with heaven-born stories.
So here we go—off into the skies with the Fruitful Fluff Family. May these little clouds point big hearts back to the One who gives the fruit.
Stay tuned, friends. This storm has purpose.
And we’ll weather it together—with love, joy, and a whole lot of fluff. ☁️💜

🌿 Scripture Study: We Will Know Them by Their Fruit
Key Verse:
“You will know them by their fruits.”
— Matthew 7:16 (NIV)
In this verse, Jesus teaches us that true believers are recognized not by what they say, but by how they live. Just like a tree is known by its fruit, we are known by the evidence of the Spirit living in us.
Core Study Passage:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
— Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
These nine traits are not simply characteristics to aspire to—they are the natural outgrowth of a life surrendered to the Holy Spirit. They are the evidence that Christ is alive in us. They aren’t developed by effort alone, but by abiding in Jesus, the true vine (John 15:4-5).
Supportive Scriptures:
- John 15:8 (NIV) — “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
- James 3:17 (NIV) — “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
- Psalm 1:3 (NIV) — “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”
Ask yourself as you reflect:
➡️ What “fruit” shows up most in my daily life?
➡️ Where might God be pruning or preparing me to bear more?
🙏 Prayer of Thanksgiving
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for planting this idea deep in my spirit. I am overwhelmed by Your creativity and kindness—that You would breathe life into a story like Fruitful Fluff Family and allow me to steward it. Thank You for reminding me that fruit is not just what I produce, but who I become through You.
Thank You for each fruit of the Spirit—evidence of Your presence in my life. Help me live each day rooted in Your Word, bearing fruit that reflects Your heart. Let every child (and grown-up) who encounters this story come closer to the true vine—Jesus.
I give You all glory, all honor, and all praise for this idea. May it grow for Your Kingdom and bring joy to many.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
