A solemn real look at my own walk with Jesus.

This week, my heart has been sitting with Jesus. I’ve walked with Him through the streets of Jerusalem, felt the weight of His words, and paused at the garden where He prayed until He sweat drops of blood. Today, I find myself soulfully pondering: Who do I most identify with during this Holy Week?
For me, the answer is Peter.
Not Peter the preacher. Not Peter after Pentecost.
But Peter—the one who pulled out a sword without thinking.
Peter—the one who denied his Savior when the heat pressed in on him.
Peter—the one who loved Jesus so much but didn’t realize who he was.
I know what it is to fight hard and fall even harder. I know what it feels like to react out of pride and self-preservation. I know what it means to have an identity crisis—when the pressure gets too real and the fear gets too loud.
I was the one who wasn’t worthy for the Lamb of God to wash my feet.
I was the one who recognized Jesus’ authority early on, yet couldn’t deal with my own idolatry long enough to learn the very tenets of the Word He had spent years trying to teach me.
Yet—grace still called my name.
Because today, I also sit at the feet of the great Resurrected Lamb. Every single day, I get up and come closer. I’ve been given an invitation to the wedding feast of my Bridegroom, and that very invitation changes everything.
God has rekindled the flame of my salvation in a way I can’t put into words. The Holy Spirit has set my spirit on fire—not with performance, but with love. Not with obligation, but with holiness. I don’t deserve to carry the cross the way Jesus did. I’m not worthy of that kind of honor. Somehow, in His mercy, He calls me back—again and again.
Peter wept bitterly after denying Jesus… but he also ran to the empty tomb. He didn’t let shame keep him in hiding. He let grace change him.
So today, I stand with Peter.
Sword laid down. Shame surrendered.
On fire with a love I don’t deserve but will never let go of again.
There is victory in Jesus—for me, for Peter, and for people like us.
And there’s victory for you, too.
Sunday is COMING!! Resurrection power sealed with the fire of Pentecost have set me free just as it did for Peter. Sunday is COMING!! The Lamb of God has RISEN!!

“Jesus said to him the third time, ‘Simon, son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and he said to him, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep.’”

Even in Peter’s brokenness, Jesus didn’t shame him. He restored him. Jesus didn’t disqualify him. He called him—again. Then, Peter went on to be a bold, Spirit-filled disciple who helped build the early Church.
🙏 A Prayer for Those Who Feel Like Peter
Jesus,
Thank You for loving the ones who fall hard and weep bitterly. Thank You for knowing every part of us—and still calling us to sit at Your feet.
I confess the pride, fear, and failure that have caused me to turn away in the past. But I also confess this truth: You never stopped pursuing me.
Thank You for restoring me like You did Peter. For asking me, again and again, “Do you love Me?”—not to condemn me, but to call me back to You.
Set my heart on fire again, Lord. Let me feed Your sheep. Let me follow You—not in perfection, but in purpose. Let me love You more today than I did yesterday.
Because You are worthy–
Because You have made me new–
Amen.

- Lay down your sword.
- Repent where needed.
- Run to the tomb.
- Accept the grace.
- Sit at His feet.
- Say yes again.
Whether you’re returning to Jesus or simply recognizing His mercy anew—walk like Peter. Let this week rekindle the flame of your salvation and stir your spirit for what comes after the cross.
