A Little More Patience for Chuck the Chick

Revise and Edit until 7/31/25

by Jennifer Greene-Sullivan

I spent part of this weekend with a proof copy of Chuck the Chick Learns Patience in my lap and a pen in hand. There’s something sacred about holding your words in print for the first time—and something humbling about realizing a few of those words need some tweaking. 😊

As I read through the pages, I found myself smiling at Chuck’s journey—but also noticing places where the rhythm could be smoother, the message clearer, or the font a little easier on young eyes. So I did what all patient little chicks (and writers!) must do: I made revisions.

✨ A few words were reshaped.
✨ A couple of phrases were rewritten for better readability.
✨ The font got a glow-up to make it friendlier for early readers.

I didn’t change the heart of the story because Chuck’s lesson still rings true: sometimes waiting is hard, but worth it. Sometimes we don’t get things perfect on the first try—and that’s okay too.

The July 31st release date still stands (praise the Lord!), and I’m so excited to share the updated version with you all very soon. Thank you for cheering Chuck on as he learns to be still, to trust, and to grow through waiting.

This sweet chick has taught me more than I expected about patience. Maybe he will for you, too. 💛🐣

Love,
Jennifer
